I’m Ben and I take photos of people having the best time of their lives. Wedding photography in days gone by used to be very ‘sit up straight’ and ‘say cheese’ yuck! I’m glad things have changed. I don’t do traditional posed stuff, although some group photos still have their place. I strongly encourage a lot of banter and even a practical joke wouldn’t go a miss. These kinds of photos are far more fun to look back on for yourselves and infinitely more fun for me to create. Why not smear some sauce on your best man’s face ey?
It’s really important for me to meet and get to know you beforehand so more often than not, we meet somewhere local for a couple drinks and I really get to know both of you. What you like and don’t like, how you met etc. Tell me some funny stories of the both of you. These ice breakers all help to allow me to get the most from you on your wedding day.
I’m a mixture of everything really. Hipster, Nerd, class clown, but I don’t take myself seriously. We all have our interests that we love to geek out over and mine’s ancient history and anything to do with space. I can’t dance… but that won’t stop me if i’m encouraged enough and a beer goes down well once all the important shots are taken. And yes, if you have dogs at your wedding, I will gladly hold them for you while everyone else gets in the picture.
I tend to fit in anywhere with anyone which really helps when you meet 1000’s of people from all over the world all year. I’m not afraid to make a bit of a fool of myself as no can embarrass me more than myself. I’ve had instances where guests want to take a photo of me with my camera which is so fun, but having nothing in my hands makes me feel awkward in front of people, so if you hear of the photographer stealing drinks from guests hands… it wholly for the purpose of photos that guests want to take of me.
